Professional Background
Ron Bywood is an engineer with more than 30 years of leadership experience in capital-intensive manufacturing businesses. His core expertise lies in glass and metal manufacturing during Germany’s energy transition, where he led companies through both the growth years and the subsequent market crisis. After serving as plant manager within a major glass group, he moved into CEO roles in the solar glass industry from 2002 onwards. As managing director of a large manufacturer, he held full responsibility for sales, 24/7 production, purchasing, HR, R&D, logistics, and finance, and received multiple energy, innovation, and environmental awards. During the market downturn between 2012 and 2014, he led restructuring, capacity adjustments, and the management of customer insolvencies. He later went on to manage a mid-sized technical service company as CEO.
